Website Design can range from a single splash page or brochure website, through eCommerce, to a large corporate knowledge index or a dynamic 3D experience.
At each of these levels different considerations need to be made, but a fundamental understanding of the end user is always key.

Where to start
The first step is to have a conversation with Tom. You’ll go through your current needs, and will touch on your future aspirations, all with a view of getting a clear understanding of what the most simple approach to the best results would be.
The process itself will then involve understanding the content structure, which may involve Wireframes. With User Experience at the forefront, the scale of the requirement will determine what phases of work are necessary to deliver your aims.

Visualising and prototyping
Where appropriate, a tangible Design phase may take place prior to development, to ensure that the required content and User Journeys are married up with a logical User Experience.
When this happens, Tom will present creative ideas through clear prototypes, illustrating the user’s journey and providing clear annotations of any intended animations and logic.
These designs can then be iterated through to completion, before being packaged and moved into development.
However, this is not always necessary. Sometimes, the best approach will be to work with a custom theme on a simple CMS (such as Wordpress).

Website Development
Depending on your requirement, Tom has a network of partners that specialise in different development technologies to ensure that no project is compromised by “generalists”.
For simpler projects, Tom uses his own development knowledge and taps into over a decade of experience in developing websites on platforms such as Wordpress and Webflow.
